“Voices of Hope will be honoring “National Opioid Overdose Day” with a memorial service to be held Tuesday, August 31, 6 pm, at the West Dover Congregational Church, 104 Route 100.
Everyone whose life has been affected by substance misuse is invited to come to share photos, mementos, and stories. Those affected will be remembered with the ringing of a meditation bell, readings, speakers, and a candle ritual.
There will be light refreshments outside after the service, dependent on COVID-19  restrictions. There will also be grief support available from Brattleboro Area Hospice.
Voices of Hope’s mission is to inspire hope and actively support people affected by substance misuse. It advocates to increase local resources and raise awareness about substance use/misuse and the importance of compassion in the Deerfield Valley. Its vision is to create a community that fosters connection, acceptance, creativity, recreation, health, and safety.
